The importance of CPC Training

New legislation, which came into force on 10th September 2009, requires that most drivers of vehicles over 3.5 tonnes attend 35 hours of approved training before September 2014 to gain a Driver’s Qualification Card. A further 35 hours approved training will be needed in each following five year period in order to remain qualified.

This training can be delivered as a five day course or as continuous training - one day a year for five years.

Any driver failing to attend the correct hours of approved training in any five year period will no longer be able to drive vehicles over 3.5 tonnes in a commercial setting. If stopped by DVSA (VOSA) and unable to produce a Drivers Qualification Card you will face a fixed penalty fine.

We are fully approved with the Driving Standards Agency to deliver this training and, as always, are striving to deliver training that will be relevant to you and your business.

Modules that we offer

The modules that we are approved to offer in three and half hour sessions are: Vehicle Defect Checks and Reporting, Drivers Hours Regulations, Digital Tachographs, Drivers Hours Record Keeping, Drivers Health and Welfare, Vehicle/Driver Security for Overnight Parking, Customer Care, Conflict Awareness, SAFED (classroom based), Transport Security, Manual Handling Vehicle/Personal Accident Reporting/Recording.

Any two of these modules may be taught in one day to fill the 7 hour period. We can mix and match to suit your needs and incorporate your own company policies into these modules.

The modules that we are approved to offer in seven hour modules are: Emergency First Aid, HIAB and Mechanical Handling Equipment (counterbalanced, reach, telescopic and vehicle mounted to name but a few.)

Our ADR Course

Our ADR courses are approved for up to twenty eight hours of Driver CPC training, depending on the range of classes needed.

Drivers that have taken their Cat C or C+E tests recently must have taken Modules 2 (Case study) and 4 (Practical Demonstration Test) before they can undertake any further training. As the training that can be undertaken is so varied it is not possible to put a fixed price on it, but we always aim to offer you the most cost effective option for your training needs.

This training is compulsory so let's make it as good and as useful as we can.
